My Experience

Throughout my career to date working for charities, in the NHS and in my private practice, I have gained ten years of experience, working in a range of settings and with a range of mental health difficulties. I specialise in trauma therapy and therapy for anxiety, the menopause and depression. My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing upon my training and including what is shown to work best to facilitate positive outcomes of mental health difficulties (NICE guidelines). Psychological models that I find most helpful are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and the EMBERS model which is a specific model for supporting women experiencing psychological difficulties related to the menopause.

I have provided supervision for Assistant Psychologists, trainee Clinical Psychologists and qualified Clinical Psychologists both within the NHS and in private practice. I have been an affiliated supervisor with both Coventry University and The University of Birmingham for their Trainee Clinical Psychologists and have offered both core and specialist placements to Trainees.
